Notes | Malcolm Campbell of Edinburgh Woollen Mills (and future Chief Executive of the Wool Council) designed a Glasgow Garden Festival tartan. The Edinburgh Woollen Mill also had its own live exhibit, the Story of Scottish Wool. All High St units consisted of a glass structure fronted by a scaffolding-based facade. Following the Garden Festival, the glass parts were dismantled and stored at a Hillington warehouse. Resale attempts for these glass structures failed due to missing components, and the remaing parts are now presumed lost(correspondence ex. John Banks, May 2023). |
